I have accumulated quite a bit of stuff while in Korea. What is the cheapest way to send it back home? And where can I buy some boxes to send them in? |

Depends on where "home" is but
Korea post is the cheapest for most small stuff (assuming you aren't talking about a 1/2 container full of furniture).
They also sell #5 boxes (just about the largest they let you send abroad to most countries).
Max weight per box is 20kg (44lbs for our US friends).

Surface mail. The #5 boxes can be shipped for s very cheap price, but it can take a month or two to get home. |

I think that you can send more than 20kg. I can't remember the maximum but if you send it by EMS service I think that the maximum is about 30 or 35kg. If you pop into any post office, they can explain it to you. They have a large pamphlet with a table listing how much it costs to send to different countries (the countries are organised into groups) by different services. It's very straight forward to calculate how much it will cost once you have the pamphlet. In short though, it's quite cheap to send packages abroad, especially if you don't mind waiting a month for stuff to arrive by surface mail. |

Make a friend at one of the US military bases and have them mail it back |

I just used 1/4 of a container. Worked well. cost me 1 million. but that was not through a foreigner service and it was in 2006. and that price would have been much higher for anything other than a major west coast city |

Anyone know how to post home (Ireland) large packages?
I will have 2snowboards (largest is 164cm other is 149cm), each board will have a pair of boots and bindings with it. I would also like to include a longboard skateboard in the package with wheels and trucks (147cm long).
From my own rough calculations package should weigh in or around 30kg.
Whats the best way to send a package of this size? Korean Post? EMS?
Thanks |
