Are all the stores of similar size? Or are there bigger ones that stock more stuff?

Where is the biggest costco in seoul?

Is there something specific you need to find? I prefer the Costco in Ilsan because it has just about everything, but it's just as overcrowded as the others.

I have visited the Sangbong and Yeongdeungpo Costco stores. They just seem to stock Korean stuff in bulk. I know you can find some other things, but beyond meat (which still seemed expensive) or milk (which would go bad and be pointless to buy in bulk Laughing) I don't see much point shopping there.

I went there looking for hot dog buns and A&W root beer. All attempts failed and the school called a local bakery to make buns for "Hot Dog Day".

I found local supermarkets to have more than what I needed and each one sells something at a lower price. Some days eggplant will be cheaper, next week it will be their pepper paste. Just market hop from one to the other and you can usually get what you need at a lower cost than shopping at only one.

I think Yangjae is the biggest. It's definitely bigger than Youngdeungpo, which is even smaller than usual right now because it's under construction.

Agree 100%

Costco is really Samsung Bulk Supermarket.

It's as Korean as any other and I also don't see much point in shopping there either.

Yours doesn't have hot dog buns? The one in Daejeon does, I would expect ones in Seoul to have them as well.

I love Costco for the ability to buy things I'm used to at home here in Korea. It's the only place in Daejeon to buy sour cream, Kraft cheese slices, Dr. Pepper in a 24 pack, and Country Time Lemonade. I mean, I'm not going to find everything here, because some things simply don't exist here, like root beer. But there are enough things in Costco that remind me of home to let me leave satisfied and a little less homesick.

If you want root beer, 'I Love Cookie' in Bundang (Jeongja Station) has A&W in stock most of the time for 1,000 won. It's just like home and quite a good deal.

They also have ginger ale, which I haven't seen anywhere else, for the same price.

They do have them. They're in the bread section right next to the hamburger buns and the bushman baguettes.

Smart shoppers always look for sales. You can see the sales ads online and plan your shopping trips. So you avoid Costco because you didn't know where to find hot dog buns?

Even if I DIDN'T purchase any groceries there at all (which I do), I'd definitely be satisfied paying the yearly subscrip fee for the pizza, hot dogs, chicken bakes, etc.

There are four foodstuffs which keep me happy which Korean brands are awful at.

Cheese
Bread
Cold cuts
Coffee beans

I've been here for almost 10 years now and I've never been happy with the Korean versions of any of these things.

I need Costco.

Me too. What do you think of the Suji's brand vs. the San Daniele stuff?

can I use my US costco membership here? I think I've heard that you can't, but I was reading on the Korea Costco website that a membership you buy here can be used all over the world...so i figured it would be the same for those bought in the US?

Yes, I've been using my US membership here for more than a year now.
