to those with $500,000 to buy a condo on Jeju and live on an island which already has many tourists, only for it to be totally overwhelmed by even more tourists.

I liked this bit, anyone who likes hiking can relate.
It is a grueling hour-long trek to the top, not grueling because of physical exertion, but because of the thousands of school children and tourists squeezing along the same narrow path. |

Sunrise Peak probably has the most picturesque view in all of Korea...but the photo op is totally ruined by an electrical cable lazily dangled between two posts at top. A couple of extra meters of cord would allow it to at least droop below eye level and allow a decent shot, but alas... |

Lol...I stayed right near Sunrise peak when I went to Jeju. Woke up, went out, saw the huge mobs of people, and went back to bed. I've seen the sunrise...it's much better when you're alone.
Who in their right mind would buy a $500,000 condo on Jeju when you could buy one in Thailand, Vietnam, Philippines, etc....
First thing they need to do is stop all those halmonys from drying out their seaweed in the bike path. Sweet bike path, jeju. Too bad it's ruined by the people living there though. |
