My query deals with "missing plugins" for internet banking with Kookmin Bank.

I went with my boss to the bank, got all the relevant documents signed, got back to my work, used my boss's computer, successfully signed up for internet banking but when I tried it at home on my personal laptop, I couldn't get past a certain stage in the process to see my account. Firefox kept telling me that I needed to install missing plugins but couldn't find the one I needed. I updated every plugin I could, still no luck.

I did a little bit of research and found that the issue might be Firefox so I tried Internet Explorer. I could click on the login button, (which for some reason I couldn't do in Firefox) but it basically told me I needed to install 3 different things. (this is what I think. My Korean isn't all that good.) I tried but Explorer stopped working every time for some reason before I could install anything.

Anyway, if anyone has advice on how to make internet banking for KB work on laptops brought into the country, it would be appreciated. Thanks.
Btw, my computer is set up to display Korean characters, so I don't believe that's the problem.

Yeah, that was it. I updated my I.E. (it was version 6) and then installed the proper security programs and I was good to go. Thanks!

God I hate this piece of crap method they use. Installing all this useless crap that's not really making it more secure.

OMG this site is a piece of crap, I go to try and get a certificate, type my info and hit submit and nothing!!!!!!

What I thought was my password doesn't work either, I input a 12 digit number. They complained saying it had to be between 4-12 digits. What did I just give you? Wow and the awkward English.

sometimes those sites don't accept characters such as . > ? ^%$ etc... you might have to use 123... and abc... etc. uppercase should be ok.

LOL. Doesn't the fact you can't access your account without the correct information confirm it is secure? Laughing

Does anyone know if it is possible to send money overseas (i.e. back to Canada) via KB internet banking?

Rolling Eyes You don't need 5 active X applications to confirm a password or not. In fact how many sites give you access for putting in the wrong info?

Oh and here's proof this site is broke:

And yes I know for a fact they were numbers, I used the numeric pad. Not to mention all the stupid errors like words mashed together throughout the website. They can sponsor Kim Yuna but can't even hire people who speak real English.

Just dump KB and get a KEB (Korea Exchange Bank) account. Everything is in English, including Internet banking, regular banking, and more. You can get English statements both emailed and snail mailed to you if you want.

You can send money overseas easily using Internet banking. They even gave me an unsecured credit card. Can't work at a Hogwon for that though.
