I'm thinking of getting the Galaxy tab. Has anybody gotten one yet? Can you tell me like if the phone calling function is enabled which I've heard US version will be disabled.

What's your take on the tab. Like the functions and service plan on it

Thanks

I looked at one, and it's beautiful. I'd really like to get one, but I want wi-fi only, and I dont' need a data contract. They offer neither.

You HAVE to buy a full SKT plan, just like you would with any smart phone. You make calls via a headset, not sure if it's bluetooth or wired.

If you want it with no contract, you will pay 1.1million (for the same thing that is only $600) in the US.

I'll pass.

Seriously? SKT is trying to milk every penny or in Korea every "WON" out of people here. 600k won after sign up is ridiculous. I wanted something alternative to Ipad and has flash and able to make phone calls.

I guess I won't be getting one either of those now.

Very disappointed Samsung. tsk tsk tsk

Yep, you can make calls on a bluetooth headset.

I work for a mobile phone store, and the small companies get charged a bit over 1mil for those things so 1.1mil doesn't give the store much profit. I don't quite understand why you have to get a data plan either, i agree that SK is just milking that thing for all it's worth. It is kinda nice looking though. I would consider one if i didn't have a Galaxy S.

I was hoping to get more input in here. I only saw a kid (about 11 years old) playing with the tab and I was trying to take a look at what she's doing with it while asking some questions. She froze so I just moved on and let her thaw.

I was only offered either a Galaxy S or a Galaxy Tab. The tab would've won me over if it has a bigger screen. And the reviews I google makes me lean more to the smartphone.
