Korean special forces stormed a hijacked Korean ship killing 8 pirates and rescuing the crew.

Apparently the Korean ship had 300 special forces aboard. Quite a sizable number. Presumably fewer were involved in the assault.

Good for Korea. It's about time. Hopefully it will send a good message.

I agree!

I posted on another thread on this topic: South Korea has a new-found confidence. It is good to see.

Someone mentioned that hostages have been given Cuban cigars as a way of saying they are 'well treated'. Fooey! I don't care how many cigars I am given as a hostage. That does not compensate me for the time stolen from my life. A year or so ago the US killed some pirates but there was some heavy criticism of that since some pirates lost their lives. Boo hoo. No one has a right to hold other people hostage.

President LMB fired some official last time when Korea paid $9.5M ( the highest that Somalia pirates ever got) to get the hostage back which I believe played a role in this action.

It's a good job.
