I will be leaving Korea soon and have heaps of clothes to get rid of. Some can be donated, others I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy!

Anyhow, my question is - where can I discard the old clothes? Can I leave it outside of my building, near the plastic/paper bins, or is there somewhere designated in the city to throw out old clothes?

Thanks in advance!

If you live in a 'villa' then you can throw just about anything out the front of your building as long as you use the authorized trash bags.

Call ATEK, I think they're having a used clothes drive for poor people. If they're Korean size, it'll help less fortunate. Don't know if it's ATEK per se, maybe some group they're sponsering. (At least my local chapter is.)

Theres an organization in Seoul that is collecting donations to send to Pakistan flood victims.

If you are in Seoul I could give you directions to go there. If you want directions, p.m.

Have you seen these type of bins in your neighbourhood ? http://www.clothingbincult.com/assets/gaia_clothing_bin_cult_drop_off_bin.jpg

They're for clothes. I see them everywhere, some so full there are piles on top.

I guess if you will describe your better clothing that you intend to donate, someone will offer to pick them up.

The Beautiful Store picks up used clothes and other gently used items. Here is the website: http://www.beautifulstore.org/Eng/involved/donation.aspx I never called them myself. I get the Korean husband to do it for me.
