It was only for 50,000WON.
I'm assuming going to the cops is the only thing I can do, but is there anything else I can do?
The only info I have is the banking information.
TIA |

Sorry to hear that.
All I have is the phone number of an asshole that wasted my time.
I didn't get scammed, but he did flake on me.
Let me know if you have any ideas, we could start some group that gets retribution on these scumbags.

Do you mind telling us how you were scammed? Did you transfer money to him and not receive anything? |

What kind of scam was it? If it was something stupid, take that 50,000안 hit and chalk it up to a learning experience. Cops don't care about $50 |

Your money is up in smoke. Everybody gets scammed at some point in thier lives, including the kids who send box tops through the mail and never get sent a thing.
You need to consider how it is you let yourself get scammed. There are scams out there that are a lot worse than the one that scammed you. Learn to be careful and think about the people you are interacting with. |

From what I've read in those other threads, they won't do much. Oh well, see what happens tomorrow. |

fraud is fraud, if you press charges the cops HAVE TO look into it.
a crime has been committed. it doesn't matter if it was 500 won.
if you want to press charges the police must proceed with your claim.
so they will track down his name from the bank account, then they will get his phone number.. do you have his number? I guess you do because you would of spoken to him on the phone right?
the police will call him and demand he come to the station, they will threaten legal action against him if he doesn't come to the station.
he will now know he is in big trouble and he will prepare his excuses..
goodluck.. |

TBH, I don't expect too much from the Police in Korea.
I mean the guy/girl could just go to the station, say he shipped it. Hell, the guy could just ship me a empty box and there would be no way to prove whether he shipped a empty box or not. Or he could just say that I owed him the money or something. Oh well, never doing this again...
fingers crossed |

Report it anyway. There's a chance others were scammed as well, and if no one reports it, s/he gets away with it and is likely to give it another shot. If more than one person reports them, then the police might take it more seriously, or at least make an effort to contact this person and scare them away from doing it again. |

Never hire a prostitute off of craigslist.
(nothing to do with OP, just some good advice) |
