Greetings all. I've found several posts on things to bring overseas, so no need to mention the obvious. For now I have 2 questions/concerns.
1. I am wondering if I need to bring a suit with me? (I will be working for a hagwon, teaching kids. Dress code is to be casual.)
2. Is it okay for me to bring a years worth of supplements, dietary supplements, vitamins, and sports supplements? (They are all over-the-counter drugs in the U.S, that may be a bit more pricey overseas. It is basically enough to fill backpack, so I can see how it may look questionable as intent to sale. None are liquids; mostly pills/capsules, and powders. Pretty much everything is still sealed in it's original packaging.)
Anything else you recommend would be helpful? I hear it's hard to find deodorant and the toothpaste is kind of gross. Thanks! |

1.) Bring the suit, you never know when you will need it. You might get invited to a wedding or another important event.
2.) Yes, bring all the medication you will need. Put it in your luggage, not your carry on. If asked about it explain what you have explained to us. If they decide to be dicks about it... then they decide to be dicks, theres not much you can do. (But, I doubt that they will...) No one asked me though, I didn't bring as much as you. I brought a year supply of prescription migraine meds and allergy meds. I think the fact that you are bringing a year supply of different kinds of medication/supplements and you have a 1 year visa shows that you are not intending to sell it... But, then again, Korea isn't the most logical country on the planet...
Good luck! |

| Awesome! Your right! Plus, it might be a pain looking for a suit that'll fit. I'm not that tall, but I hear clothing is on the smaller side there. Guessing it'll be hard to find 10.5 shoes as well. Anything else anyone recommend I bring, aside from the obvious. Thanks! |
