| Does anyone have any advice for some good bars/ pubs or clubs to hang out in Hong Kong? Not too touristy, maybe where the local expats would go? |

i was there in late july early/august for two weeks and was quite suprised by the lack of night life. For such a famous, cosmopolitan city..i was kinda disappointed by this. Anyway, the Lan Kwai Fong area near Central station is probably your best bet. It's a collection of bars on a single street that wraps around like an L. Also a small area near causeway bay has some irish and european style pubs, but there are hookers roaming everywhere in this area.
Chinese people typically aren't heavy drinkers, so most of the bars that you do find will be foreigners. I recommend picking up one of the free bar guide books that you find in most bars to give you an idea of where to find a style of bar that you like. Also, if you are female, you can drink free almost any night of the week -- at least one bar had a ladies night every day of the week when i was there. Good luck |
