|
|
Hi,
I did a search on this, but didn't come up with much (old posts from August). I was taking a look at the Korean Starcraft battlenet page, and they only offer the game in Korean, not English.
I want to play on Korean servers, but I want the game to be in English. How do I go about doing this?
I haven't purchased the game yet from anywhere. |

legally?
you can't.
Blizzard is clueless and I've refused to buy the game until they fix this. There is a loader someone was working on which apparently switched the region, but I have no idea if it still works. |

| Hmm... yes, that's pretty stupid of them. They are just losing out on money. If I can't find a way, maybe I'll just torrent the game and play the campaign and call it good. |

I tried to do some google searching for region unlockers, but couldn't come up with anything. I was hoping on finding that loader |

| I'm not buying it until this gets fixed either. If I finish the games I'm currently playing, I'll download the torrent to play the single player campaign. I'd get whipped WAY too badly on Korean servers to try MP. |

| Just play zerg and 6 pool every game. At that early stage its pretty limited on the amount of micro they can do to defend against the lameness. |

I've been using this for awhile to play the US version of SCII on the Korean Servers. If you're scared of getting banned then I suggest you don't use it however, there have been ZERO reported cases of bans for using this tool for the FOUR months that it has been out. Good Luck! |

No that doesn't work.
The clients actually contain different files, it's why a region switcher is needed. It actually swaps some files out. |

| I'm all Gold league on US servers. I'm pretty sure I would get stomped in Bronze on Korean servers. |

It's not THAT bad. From my experience, its down 1 rank from US to Korean, although I just got platinum on both. |

Big thanks for that link! I downloaded/installed the English client, but I had to go. So I will test it out later. I was able to sign up for an I-PIN and switch my battlenet account over to Korea. So now I just need to buy a SC2 korean cd key, right? |

I've been playing on the Korean server and there have been a few complaints about my playing style.
I used a few cheese strategies like canon rushing or probe rushes. I find the canon rush to be quite effective on Korean servers. More times than not, the players do not check around their bases for my probes.
I've tried going straight to carriers and that seems to work well. In 4v4 or 3v3, the other Korean players are busy fighting it out and after a while, I send my fleet over and mop up. |

Haha. Whatever it takes to win! Those are legit strategies, you aren't cheating. Nothing to complain about. Sore losers, more like it! |
