Warning: this is a venting post.
I know about Korean last-minute planning and I usually go with it, because it's usually minor annoying stuff, like "Oh, you actually have class 3rd period not 6th period today." But today's last-minute news made me pretty angry.
Upon returning to the office after my first class today, I found a note that said all the the lesson plans for one of my afterschool classes for the whole semester were due.
First of all, and this part is my fault, while I planned lessons for each class I didn't save the plans.
Second of all, no one ever told me that I had to turn in lesson plans for this class. So when I deleted my lesson plans, I figured I was done with them and wouldn't need them anymore.
There are/were 20 classes in the semester for this afterschool class. That means I have to write 20 lesson plans ASAP.
Even better, I've taught the majority (17) of these classes already, alone and mostly unobserved. I can make up lesson plans that I've never actually taught and no one would know the difference. Also, these lesson plans will probably go into some filing cabinet somewhere never to be used by anyone again.
I'm angry, both at myself and my school, over this. I can't help but wonder if they waited until today to tell me because I have a day off tomorrow (college entrance exam day) and they're giving me busy work to do.
Anyone else ever get a ton of extra work suddenly thrown on you like this? |

Write one lesson plan. Print it out. Make some minor changes to the content print THAT out, then make some more changes and print it out again. Rinse and repeat until you have 20.
I should state that this only works if you are using the same textbook...the lesson plans tend to all follow the same format in that case.
To answer your question I did...only I was told the lesson plans were due tomorrow. I told them they would get it when I was done and they duly got it...nine days later. It wasn't a question of not saving it...they wanted EXPANDED lesson plans. I could have probably done the whole thing in a couple of days...but the nine days was my lesson plan for THEM. |

Just copy and paste something from one of the EFL teachers' websites and hand that in. Nobody cares. |

Don't fret.
It might still be stored on your computer!!!! When you delete things, they go to the Trash Can. However, they remain there until you empty the trash can. So it might still be there if you open up the trash can icon ! |

I did the same thing. I just changed the title and some of the required items like pens got switched to pencils. They're just collecting it for show. They're never gonna read it. The ones I gave them, I never taught. With the classroom stuff I take my time, make it by the week and carefully work out all the level adjustments through trial and error. |

lol...I had the same request. They wanted 94 typed lesson plans overnight.
tell them you can't possibly do it (of course)- and they will probably let you hand them in week by week through the semester, as i did. |
