|
|
Hi all-
I recently got a new phone through SK telelcom. I found a converter that will convert my mp3s on my computer into an acceptable format for the phone, and they play fine. What I want now is a converter so I can play movies on my phone.
The native videos on the phone are skm format. Does anyone know of some sort of converter from avi to skm? |

Gom encoder... you can download an English version. Google it... won't work on Korean windows. For that, you'll have to go to the Korean web page. No registration required for the English windows version, but I tried downloading and installing the Korean windows version on my wife's system, and got a registration message when opening the program... didn't bother so don't what that entails.
Just got a motorala phone... found out I needed a special player for the movies so I got the encoder to change the files to simple avi files. The program will also go the other way, avi to cell phone files.
What program did you use to convert your music files to cell? Haven't tried the gom encoder to do it, and not certain if it would. I've downloaded, but not yet registered, melon player... which is supposed to be able to convert audio to cell phone compatible... but another alternative would be nice, preferably in English. |

Ursus - Thanks for that, I'll try it when I get home tonight. I'm in the same boat as you - motorola phone (razor v9m).
The converter uses melon player, but allows you to batch convert as many mp3s as you want. However, you have to have melon player installed, so do that first.
It's not in English, but I had a friend type up really nice, simple instructions for me.

Bear King-
That worked like a charm, thanks! A hint - you have to put it in the "Moto_Video" folder of the sd card for it to be read properly. The non-registered (free) version puts and extremely tiny water mark at the top right corner of the video for the first ten seconds. Very acceptable.
Thanks again for your help, and again hit me up if you want the audio converter. |

My old phone used SKM files. The only way I found to convert them at the time was to e-mail them to myself. When they were emailed from the phone they were converted to AVI. |

Thanks. I'm going to give that a shot but won't be able to until this weekend when I see my girlfriend since my phone doesn't have an English mode... |

| on my phone I just made a new message, attached the video as I would to send it to someone's phone and in the "to" field I could type an email address instead of a phone number. That might do it for you. |

Tried it, files too big to send. GOM Encoder did the trick. |
