Does anyone have any thoughts on shared versus single housing for teachers?
Is it fair to believe that shared housing would be significantly bigger than single?
If anyone has any thoughts--- positive or negative--- it'd be much appreciated!
Thanks! |

I have "shared housing" but I chose my apartment and also my roommate. I wouldn't agree to live with some random coworker if I were you. |

If your employer is forcing you to live with your coworker(s), then you have a really miserable/cheap employer. I've heard of a couple hagwon chains doing this:
Kid's Club
Poly
Wonderland
...and some other nameless, bottom-feeder hagwons. I remember the old LCI Kid's Club in Anyang had all of their teachers living in a shared dorm above the actual hagwon itself. They all had to share a shower/kitchen. I pity anyone dumb enough to sign one of those contracts.
Anyway, Koreans think shared accommodations with strangers is extremely weird so if they're willing to make an exception in your case, it means they don't think very much of you! |

You've graduated from college. You deserve and are entitled to something better than dorm life. |

I wish I was in shared accommodation because living on my own is lonely. But, I would only do it if I got to choose the place and the roommate.
Don't accept shared accommodation with a stranger. |
