Two videos online about North Korea.

First video is The Cleanest Race with B. R. Meyers. He's got a pretty interesting take on North Korea. The video link to C-Span is only about 10 months old so it seems very current.

Second video is only a week old with Stanford Professor Siegfried Hecker, who is the scientist who just went to N. Korea a few weeks ago and has been referred to a lot in recent press releases. I believe he has since responded to the press coverage by saying he's been misquoted and misunderstood. His recent pictures of N. Korea are very interesting and not at all what I expected.

It's possible that we are as misinformed about North Korea as uninformed. I have to admit, much of my own information comes via the US press or Korean news and we have to assume that it's highly filtered and biased.

After listening to the Meyers lecture I can't say I'm more optimistic about a good resolution to the situation. In fact, most of the best options may be quite counter intuitive for both the US and South Korea.

At any rate, I hope some will take advantage of looking at the videos if you're not familiar with them. It's a big step up from the usual press coverage and stereotyping about "commies" etc..
