Does anyone know how to merge file folders on a MAC? I have backed up a lot of my movies and audio files on a separate hard drive and want to add to the existing file without deleting the files there.

Before you say to use time machine I already use it but I keep two separate files for my music and movies that is not apart of my time machine because I am constantly deleting and adding to the files and want to make sure I do not lose any of my previous music or movies I have downloaded.

When I try and copy the folder over it replaces the existing folder. I know on windows I can merge the two file folders together. That is what I am looking to do but do not know how to accomplish it.

I would appreciate any help. I have been surfing the web for the past two hours and I cannot figure out how to accomplish this.

Thanks in advance.

Back-In-Time.

Quote:
Drag and Drop
to recover or open files

To restore a file or folder, simply drag it to its original location or to any other place on your Mac.
To preview a file, press the Space bar.
To view or open a file, drag it onto the application of your choice (the file cannot be modified when located on the Time Machine disk).

You can get it cracked on Demonoid.

Or you can just create a new folder for movies, which is different from the folder that time machine uses to restore its backups to.

This is what I have been doing but now I have multiple files with the same material. I want one file with where I can continously just add to it without losing the material that is already there.

In the backup, go into the folder and select the actual movies you want to restore. If you restore a duplicate, you'll get a prompt:
