I'm curious about takin' care of business in Korea. I read a blogger talking about some machine they had to use at the bank, not really sure what that's about. I'm curious about your Korean bills like utilities but I'm also VERY curious about bills you have back home and how that works.

In Particular, I know that if I play my cards right I'm hoping the only bill I have back home is student loans. Since most of us got student loans through the same sources (sallie mae, many of which are likely owned by the federal government now) I'd really like to know how paying student loans while your in Korea works and how much of a hassle it is.

Thanks.

Set up automatic payment on your SallieMae account to be drawn from your US checking account on the same day of everymonth. (Mine falls on the 10th) Just make sure you have the funds there at that time.

When you come to Korea, send money to your US account via an international remittance, which is available at all banks and can be done in several ways: In person (the highest fee), through an ATM,(which has to be set up in person the first time) or through internet banking (this is only available at some banks for foreigners).
