Most Noraebangs/DVD Bangs/Jimjulbangs/PC bangs are similar, but I was wondering if anyone knows of any around Korea that might be considered more unique or upscale?

I'd be interested in finding a really cool DVD bang in Seoul with maybe a nicer couch or sound system.

I know Luxury noraebang in Hongdae is famous for the rooms with big windows facing the shopping street. It also has loft seats. I've been to a noraebang that had a full drum kit to play on (pillows stuffed in them so people don't smash the canvas.)

And somewhat related, Gangnam has an interesting love motel with theme rooms-- I think I remember seeing a room with a pool table.

I may have been to the same place - I can't remember the name but it was also in Hongdae, and looked kind of like a castle from outside. The room was huge and had a drum kit and keyboard that you could play along with...

Do you know the name of the motel in Gangnam you mentioned? I'd like to check that place out!!

I highly doubt they would be luxurious but there are plenty of posters around Konkuk University these days for "Kiss-bangs" - hadn't seen that until recently... not sure exactly what it entails to be honest although I could hazard a guess!

You probably already know about it but the Dragon Hill Spa in Yongsan is considered to be a pretty decent jimjilbang - several TV shows have featured it.

I just remember the Jelly Hotel (jellyhotel.co.kr) is one of the cool love motels in Gangnam. Only about 70k a night too. I can't remember the one that had some bigger rooms-- I swear I remember my friend showing me the website and there being a pool table in one room.

If anyone knows a specific location of a really cool DVDbang, please let me know. I've only been to a few. They were just a standard pleather futon. Are there any DVDbangs that show BluRay movies?

You guys are talking about two different ones in Hongdae. One has the big front facing windows and you can see the people. The other "white castle" is called Prince Crown NRB i think and is a bit up the street from the other.

There aren't many "luxury NRB" because most of those double as private room salons or booking clubs. There's one at the bottom B1 of MNet building...

There are some multi-bangs around. Wii/Movies/Computer etc. Good change from plain old dvd bangs, but otherwise I haven't been to anything special.

Smilebang is a multi-bang chain. Wii/internet/karaoke in a theme room and unlimited icecream/popcorn. I have been to the one in Daegu
but I think it's a national chain. http://www.smilebang.com/web/03-07.asp

Tania is a chain multi-bang. I've only been to the one in hongdae. It's pretty cheesy, and it's not dark/dodgy-looking. You take off your shoes and they take you to either a Wii room which is bigger with closed doors... or smaller rooms with curtains. You have a tv with internet if you wish. They have a lobby with cookies, bread w/jam and PB, juice, espresso machine, ice-cream which are all free. And some ramyun and other foods for sale. They have different rates for however long you're there. i think it was about 14,000 for 2 hours. I dont think people do the dirrty dirrtyy there though b/c people can see you through the door and hear you.. but it's a nice place to bring a girl and just chill for a few hours

The best jimjilbang in korea I have been to is spaland above the shinsaegye dept. store in centrum city, busan.

I see flyers for kiss bangs everywhere these days basically u pay for a room and a university student who you can kiss for the alotted time, as i understand other services are available for a price. seems like it would be the poor mans anmar.

There are at least two Wii Bangs in Hongdae. One near the luxury Noraebang in that big main corridor, nearish snow spoon on the sixth floor. The other is my favorite, it's adjacent the park where the free market is on weekends, 4th floor, above the italian place. We made a video from there:

I also saw something in Hongdae last night that advertised itself as having PS3s, XBOXs, etc. It was called something like 'E Game Room'. It was near a potato place a few steps down from Cocoon away from that same park. Didn't go in, though.
