1/ Im looking to have a trip up to seoul next weekend to try out the ice climbing wall near no-won gu. Has anyone tried it? Do they offer belaying services?

2/ Im looking to buy an ebook reader that reads pdfs (as I have 1000's on my computer) when I go up to seoul. Where in seoul can I buy one?
PLEASE DONT SUGGEST TO ME HOW I CAN BUY ONE ONLINE - I WOULD LIKE TO WALK INTO A SHOP AND GIVE THEM MONEY.

I cant get one here in daegu as they only read korean files.

Thanks for help.

pure e-ink e-book readers are overpriced here. Your best bet is watch Craig's list or buy an ipad when it comes out soon.

as for craigs list, ive heard nothing but horror stories about that site, I would prefer to buy something from a store so that I can take it back if it breaks prematurley.

So original question stands, where can I buy an e-book reader in seoul?

You can purchase an Amazon Kindle online since Amazon will ship it to Korea. I ordered the Kindle 3 Wi-Fi version and it came to about 210,000 won all-in. That included the exchange rate differences, the shipping and the customs duty.

It might be closer to 200,000 won now since the exchange rate is a bit better than when I ordered it.

Yongsan ipark has the iriver story and the new cover story, they may have a kindle but haven't looked. The coex mall book shop has an ereader, didn't look at it so I have no idea what model.

But your best price is going to be gmarket, or some other online shop

Yeah, and people are telling you to go online and order a Kindle, since they're better then Korean e-readers and you can have it shipped to Korea for not that much.

The only place that has the Kindle is AMAZON.COM, since it's the AMAZON Kindle.

Online is the best place to buy stuff in Korea. Sorry you're still living in 1992.

you must be lucky because online shopping is a freaking headache for me. I constantly have to deal with retarded tek-bae workers. In Korea, I tend to prefer brick and mortar stores.

Not sure if they read English pdf's but I was playing with one that had a Korean pdf file on it I could read and would be surprised if they only read Korean pdfs.

Go to the Kyobo bookstore near Gwanghwamun Station and they have a few on display.

The other two bookstores near there have a few on display as well. The ebook reader I mentioned before, I played with at Bandi and Luni at Jonggak Station. Which is a mere 10 minute walk from the Kyobo bookstore. There is also another bookstore acroos from the B&L but I forget the name Young-something.

Since you are from Daegu and I don't know where you are staying in Seoul, I will give you general directions to the three I just mentioned.

Kyobo Bookstore
Go to Gwanghwamun Station 광화문약 line 5. There should be an exit for the book store as it is connected to the station.

Bandi and Luni Bookstore
From Kyobo Bookstore, you can walk there. Go out exit 4 of the station. Keep walking straight. If you pass a little pond area with a construction wall next to it, you are heading in the right direction. You will pass a Bonespe Bakery, closed McDonalds, lots of construction walls, and finally see a tall tower across from you (it is the one with a giant oval piece at the top) at a large intersection. It is in the basement of that building.

The other bookstore Young...
From the Bandi and Luni bookstore, go outside and go to the corner catty-corner from where you are. You will find the entrance in the subway exit there.

All three have some on display but I would suggest Kyobo and B&L first as those had the better selections.

Those are my three suggestions.

Thankyou, especailly for directions, theyll come in handy.

Actually, I saw that same ebook reader in Daegu but they stopped selling them the day I went to buy one. I think its just what Im looking for.

Not that it's your buisness, but Im in the process of moving house. I dont know what my new address will be. Before I move, Im going travelling and will use my e-book for my lonley planets etc.
I hope that justifies my using a shop to you?.

However, thankyou for taking the time to answer a question I didnt ask.
