my coordinator and coteacher will almost surely be leaving in Feb, and I was thinking of getting her a gift like this T-shirt.
basically a common T shirt with this custom writing on it:
I survived [enter name of school here]
I think she'd actually get a kick out of it. |

sorry, I'm not quite in tune with what "everyone else does in Korea" since I'm not sheeple, and prefer doing things my way.

Yes, of course. You can do the iron on thing, or you can find a shop that will print the shirt you want. My capoeira group here in Daegu just had a bunch of plain white shirts printed up with our logo. 4 colors with a 8cm logo on front and 20cm logo on the back only cost about 8,500 won per shirt (not including the cost of the shirt)
Hard to tell you how to find one of these places..however if you happen to be in Daegu I can direct you to one. |

I had a T-shirt painted earlier this year for a friend who left. I think it's a bit more personal than having a T-shirt printed.
I brought in some photos and the painter included some of the images on the T-shirt. However, you are free to design the image as you wish.
If you live in Seoul and want the name of the place I went to, PM me. I think it cost 35,000won and about 3 days. The lady is an artist by trade, but has a shop now devoted to painting clothing and other apparel. You can opt for a caricature or a realistic 'painting'. The T-shirt is also washable after you iron it once to set the paint. |

Jane, can you just post the info in the thread? I'm sure there are lots of people who would be interested. |

You can only get a custom shirt if your girlfriend has the same identical shirt. Then the two of you will be "so cute-uh"! |

| get a Korean friend to help you google custom t-shirt places, it's cheap, it's easy, you can do the whole thing online and it'll be sent to you later. just one is unusual, but... well... I guess that's all you need and maybe you don't mind paying the shipping cost and everything for one shirt. |

At Sindorim Station (Line 1&2), there is a Techno Mart attached to the station.
If you enter the Techno Mart from the station access, you will be on B1 and will see stalls selling clothes and apparel. Go up the escalator to 1F and she is down the aisle on the right. She has a sort of stall, and you can't miss it as you will see people painting.
Her shop is called 손으로 그리는 세상.
You can check out her work on her website for stuff she's done to date:

I mean everyone has to dress the same and look the same here. It's the rule, otherwise people STARE at you. |
