I am planning to have surgery next Friday. I went in yesterday and had an assortment of tests done and they said I was a good candidate. I'll be having the Lasek with Wavefront and the M whatever it's called. I am curious right now about the tests prior to the surgery. How do they exam the eye? Does the machine then adjust accordingly to the eye rather than use a set "prescription" for the machine since it's using wavefront?
I am just a little apprehensive right now since everything seemed to go by quickly in the testing and explanations of it all.
Also I asked for a day off from work at my Hagwon and it seemed like kind of a hassle. They aren't really wanting to count it as a "sick" day but rather have me make up the day with a vacation day. What's the deal with that??
Thanks for the support or confidence boosters you can give me about this. |

There is a big 15 page thread about it all if you can be arsed searching for it...
And the search function works - use it - put 'lasek' in there and you will get all the information you need.

Hi Sireno,
My fiance just got his eyesurgery done about a month ago, lasek at the Dream Eye Center in Myeong Dong, and his results are fantastic.
The tests he did before his surgery are pretty much the same as what the initial consultation was (which you've said you've done), plus an additional few tests with the consulting surgeon.
After that, they take you upstairs and get you in a robe and slippers, wash your face in an iodine(?) solution and then lie you on the operating table. Its about 10 minutes of fidgeting with the machine (shines a green light onto the eyeball, some clicks and whirrrring sounds) and then a minute focused on each eye.
The relaxation room is reaaaaally nice, it's heated beds with comfy blankets. |
