So, I've been looking on the Costco website and it seems that the one that was closest to me (like an hour away close) is gone. This puts me in major panic mode as I MUST have me some pumpkin pie this year for thanksgiving/christmas.

Does anyone know of other places around Seoul (not Yeoksam Costco, that place is a pain to find!) that may sell pumpkin pie.. and if possible, delivers?

Any input would be appreciated!

I think you mean the Yangjae Costco...? Maybe that's why it's so hard to find..

Countdown to some jago who insists the proper ingredients are easy to find (for like $60) and you can simply make one by intruding into your coworkers house to use her oven to follow a tradition from a holiday she doesn't know or care about in 5..............4................3.............2.........

I saw pumpkin pie at the Ilsan Costco on Saturday and a friend saw it at the Yangpyung location on Sunday.

I have a cinnamon allergy, and thus cannot buy ready-made pumpkin pies anywhere. Sad I usually bake my own with nutmeg and ginger. Anyone able to find just canned pumpkin anywhere? The unspiced variety? The EZshop site for Costco only has the pre-mixed variety with spices (and I don't have the means for buying things online yet, anyway).

I'm willing to take the train to get canned pumpkin. I LOVE me some pumpkin pie, and I have access to a toaster oven, mini pie plates, and I can get the rest of the ingredients I need at Lotte Mart (haven't found canned pumpkin there, though).

I see that Yangjae Costco isn't too far from me (Anyang, though the nearest subway station is Beomgye on line 4 I think), but the transit website is confusing. Which subway stop is closest to the Costco in Yangjae?

You can buy Korean pumpkin (단호박; similar to squash) at any supermarket; I did, steamed it until soft, blended it, mixed it up with all the ingredients, and had pumpkin muffins.

Regarding spices, I didn't have nutmeg or cloves though- just cinnamon. Does anyone know where to buy nutmeg and cloves? Also, by ginger, can I use fresh ginger?

There is no Yeoksam Costco as far as I'm aware. I've been wasting a lot of time travelling to Yangjae if that's been the case.

Yangjae station but you have to take a bus from there for about 10 mins (441) to "freight terminal"...can't remember the Korean for that.

I know there's an express bus from Indeogwon that stops right by Yangjae Costco. Don't remember the bus number though as I never take it.

The Yeongdeongpo Costco might be a little bit closer, and is labeled on the maps in the subway.

The Yeongdeung-po Costco is our favorite and really easy to get to. Take Line 2 and get off at Yeongdeungpo-gu Office station, exit #3. Make a u-turn at the top of the stairs and turn right at the corner. Costco will be about 4 blocks down on the right, just on the other side of your first traffic light.

However, we went last night and by the time we arrived around 6:30 they were all sold out of pumpkin pies. They still had cheesecakes and Boston cream pies, but no pumpkin.

Good luck!

Wish I had read this earlier. I just got back from that Costco and they are still out of pumpkin pie. I'm wondering if I should try tomorrow...

Actually, the ingredients are easy to find unless you're so lame you need canned pumpkin to make it. When I lived in a house with an oven in Korea I made pumpkin pies all winter long.

But WING bakery near Noksapyeong Stn has pumpkin pie. their number is 7940011, most of the counter people speak some English. I'm sure they'd make one and set it aside for pickup on the day you needed it.

I just got back from the Sangbong Costco and they still had quite a few left, but there were also several foreigners coming in to Costco as I was leaving.
