I have a friend who is staying with me for 3 weeks, then plans to visit China and around Europe on his way home. He didn't need a Korean visa since he's staying for less than 30 days. However, I've heard that you cannot get a Chinese visa in Korea without an ARC and/or a permanent address (and obviously he doesn't have one)
Is there no way a US citizen can get a Chinese visa in Korea as tourists? |

It is even worse than that, I'm afraid; you can't even get the visa if you have less than 6 months left on your Korean work visa.

Unless something has changed, of course. This change in visa issuance from China only happened a few months ago. If possible, your friend should get his visa for China before he leaves his home country. |

Have your friend go to Hong Kong to get his visa for China. It will just take one day for him to get his visa. |
