|
|
Hey y'all,
I'm trying to make the best of a pretty bad commute... Haebangchon to Jeongja Station in Bundang. Don't think I've ever been on a bus since I've been in Seoul.
I was just walking to work (at Jeongja) and noticed a bus stop here that was the 6968 KTX bus. That's all I could see as it pulled away. I think it was an express bus as well.
Does anyone know about this? Does it go from the KTX in Seoul Station to Bundang?? Damn would that be nice.
Anyway I can't find anything about it online, so I'd appreciate if anyone knows what's up. Thanks. |

There is no bus route numbered 6968 in Seoul or Gyeonggi. Are you sure you got the route number right?
Anyway, I think your best bet is M4102 or 5500-1 from KB Bank HQ building (across from Lotte Dept). Both take Namsan Tunnel 1 and Highway 1, non-stop between Hannam Bridge and Seohyeon Station until they reach Jeongja. |

If you're in the HBC, take a local bus to Hannam (5-way) intersection, then catch the 8100 from there. Takes 30 minutes or so.
Easy. |

Thanks, guys. Can you be a bit more specific? This commute begins tomorrow and I'm kind of stressed about it.
Jake Kim, can you tell me more about M4102 or 5500-1 from KB Bank HQ building (across from Lotte Dept)? How do I get there from Haebangchon? Where is that, anyway?
Illnine, how do I get to the 8100 in Hanam? By local bus is it one of those green buses at the bus stop outside the army base in HBC?? |

Lotte Dept. Store is on the other side of Namsan Tunnel 3 to the north. All three blue buses - 143, 401, 406 - take you to 'Lotte Yong Plaza' stop, from where M4102/5500-1/8100 stop is 200 meters ahead.
OTOH, taking 110B from from Noksapyeong stn to Hannam-dong/ex-Dankuk Uni passing through Itaewon might make more sense on the map. Once you get off 110B in front of Hannam Village, 5500-1/8100 stop is some 100 meters backwards. M4102 does not stop here.
First leg in either direction takes 15 minutes, therefore your door-to-door time depends on how long it'll take for you to get to Noksapyeong and how often 110B runs. My idea is counterintuitive, it's a huge detour in terms of distance, but it's for more frequent connections.
You can experiment both for a few days and see which is more convenient for you. If you take green Yongsan02 bus to Noksapyeong, for example, then the 110B option might be much easier.
Oh, and the other green bus, no. 03 in front of ROKA Finance Corp, will take you uphill to Hyatt, nowhere near Hannam Village.[/img] |

Thanks, Jake. Appreciate it. I am very close to the Haebangchon bus stop outside the army base... whatever that's called. I can't decide if taking the 06 bus to Yangjae (or somewhere in Gangnam) or the 143 bus to Samseong, then taking the subway, would be faster.
Guess it's 110B from HBC to Hannam-dong, then 8100 to Jeongja Station in Bundang. Pray for me. |

Thanks again for your help, guys. Jake Kim just PM'ed me a very helpful link, in case anyone else needs bus help:

One last question, hopefully: on the 100B route, there appears to be two Dankook University stops (03165) and (03211), according to the website above. Any idea which is the one to find Bus 8100 to Jeongja Station/Bundang?? |

Ah... looks like it's 03165. Doesn't look too bad on paper!
Anyone ever take this route? Curious at my chances of getting a seat in the early afternoon... |
