Hey guys, I apologize if this post should go into an existing thread but I didn't see anything...
I just got offered a job at OMP Language School through Teachers Star Recruitment Agency... has anyone had experience with either this school or this agency? I have looked through some of the blacklists and so far I havn't seen these come up so I guess that's a good thing. I am just scared to death to sign a contract with people I have heard nothing about. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!! |

Ask to speak to at least 1 (2, ideally) foreign teachers currently working at the school, or who have worked there in the past. |

I personally had a bad experience with this school. The director was dishonest with me and very disrespectful towards me in front of students. Every teacher working there at the time was very unhappy. Director is also very mean to korean teachers, even threatening their families. If you ask to speak to the people working there you will most likely speak to a girl who has been working there for a while and hates her job. However, she will tell you good things because she is afraid of it getting back to the director. It is my opinion that it would not be difficult to find a better job. Don't let the recruiters bully you into taking a job you don't want.
I will say though that I was only paid late on one occasion and was provided with decent housing. |

I just read the whole thread and did a Google search. OMP World School, the one jjgirl wrote about, is in Anyang and appears to be the place you are asking about. http://store114.kr/store/detail.asp?seq=26423282 ("World School" is written in Korean there.)
I appreciate that jjgirl left feedback about the school. I guess she forgot she was the person who started the thread (three years had passed). Anyway, from experience I can say that what she wrote is very believable. Please reconsider. It seems like you kind of want to take your job offer, but unless there's a new director now, or the director's attitudes have changed remarkably in the last 5 years, you'll probably have a draining, unhappy 2017. |
