So... KFC is ridiculously expensive.
I just saw an advert for Goobne Chicken which looks quite devine.
Does anyone know if the prices are cheaper or more expensive than KFC?
And of-course, is it as good as it looks?
If you have any other Fried Chicken chains to recommend aswell it would be awesome
Im really craving chicken as you can see |

Goobne is not fried, it's baked. That's their thing.
However, it does look divine when the SNSD girls are dancing around and singing in the commercials.
But, I don't care too much for it. It was worth it last year when they included a free SNSD calendar. Honestly, I bought it just for the calendar.
오마이 치킨 (Oh My Chicken) is fantastic. Unfortunately the one near me closed. I loved that place. Check out your local Mom and Pop's. It's hit or miss, but the good ones are really good. |

I was going to make a thread about Goobne. Its roasted chicken I thought. Anyway, it's around 15-16,000. If you get the kind without the bones, just roasted pieces of meat, I guarantee you'll buy it again. I buy it maybe twice a week. It comes with 2 different dipping sauce, one spicy, one sweet. I can only speak for the kind without bone, though, and it's amazing! |

And the Hot Chicken is great, but I feel like they've decreased the size of the bird of the past year or so. |

I like goobne. It's a little more than other places, but the quality is decent. Especially their boneless ones. I prefer ordering boneless and theirs is the best. |

Hmm, I never knew about this calendar, but I got the Goobne Generation mug just recently. Definitely gonna be one of my prized mementos of my time in Korea.
To the OP:
Goobne's pretty good, and I guess you can feel better about eating it cuz it's baked not fried. I like BBQ Chicken the best, although it's a little more exy. Something around the 15000 mark is standard price for any chain stores, which will give you pretty much a whole chicken's worth. You can get half and half too. They offer diff varieties, boneless, fried, marinated (yangnyum). But don't expect it to be the kinda place you can just walk into and get a quick feed. You have to wait for them to cook it. Can't really get one or two pieces and a side of fries either. It's not really the best option if you're dining alone. You also get a free chicken mu thrown in. I'm an unabashed addict.
Another chain I really like is BHC, although, damn, their hot sauced chicken is just about the hottest thing I've eaten in Korean. |

Calendar was in Dec 2009 (for 2010 calendar).
When did you get the mug? Do you think they still have it? I'll totally buy the chicken for it. |

I've had it on a few different occasions and every time it was bad. Way too dry. |

I'm tossing in my vote for Naenae chicken. It's my favorite of the delivery places I've tried so far. The flavor is almost as good as say Two-two, but you get about 1.5x as much meat with Naenae.
And, I think someone asked 15,00 for how much chicken. In Korea, the usually sell the whole chicken as one order: legs, breasts, thighs, wings, and even the neck pieces. |

I got the mug at the start of this month. But I dunno if they're still offering it, there was a coupon for it in my local December fast food advertising book, but when my gf rang up to order that time and asked about it apparently the guy said he was already gonna include it, but I had Goobne again on Tuesday night and no mug.
I don't know much about Naenae, although it's actually the closest chain chicken store to my house. It tends to get repped a lot by my students though, but since it lacks much of an advertising presence and my local one is kinda in a dingy building within my apartment ghetto, I kinda assumed it was a budget option and popular amongst kid's parents cuz they're cheapskates. Maybe I was wrong? |

I like Nene; Mom's Touch is good, too, and always had the friendliest staff for what it's worth. Dasarang is a chain of restaurants/hofs with good chicken, too. Don't take my word for it: all three places have their own teenybopper girlband advertising for them. |

I got a couple mugs last year from them. I think they do it every year, or obviously at least the last couple. |

My favourite is 치킨매니아 (Chicken Mania). www.cknia.com
It's the most popular chicken place in my village. It's not greasy at all, and the coating is slightly spicy. They also have a pretty extensive menu. The best is the boneless chicken mixed with potato wedges.
Haven't tried Goobne, but I want to now. |
