Call me ignorant, call me dumb... but why do all K Cops drive around with their flashing lights ALL the time? |

Dude, if ya got it, flaunt it! Those lights are meant to be used, baby!
Just be thankful they don't drive around with the sirens on 24/7!
Seriously though, doesn't everyone with flashing lights drive with them on all the time? Ambulances when the guys are just going to lunch, towtrucks not towing cars, security company cars going god knows where, ditto on municipal trucks... sort of defeats the whole purpose if you ask me, and having seen a number of ambulances on emergency calls stuck in traffic with cars not making a hole for them you sometimes have to wonder if it will take a death in every family before some things will change in Korea. |

Ambulance Driver: Oh, $*&@!, we are late again, Mr. Cho.
Medic #1: Ok, guys, look for a fan and turn it on.
Medic #2: There is one over there in the corner. I will close the window.
Medic #1 : Looks like another case of Fan Death.
Medic #2: Yep. A shame. |

I used to own a restaurant here and asked a few cops who were my customers. They told me that they want people to see them and stop any illegal activities before they get there. "More easy job" was the exact quote.
Didn't surprise me at all. |

i think the real question is...
"has anyone ever seen a korean cop standing up?"
(this of course doesn't count the 20 year old dudes carrying the wooden katanas) |

Tell me this....
What's the difference between a cop and a security guard in this country?
That should be the million-won question of the day. |

Holy shi'ite
They carry guns here???
Where? I have yet to see a cop roam around Seoul with anything other than that funky looking cap-gun.

man...up in my 'hood they all carry guns. No katanas though, just a mith and wesson on the side. (This is Hong-eun dong, which is kind of known for rambunctious college students and protests).
Awesome avatar btw, Lastat. I thought I was the only Jackass fan around here. |

I saw the movie again last weekend~ great stuff
I wonder why people say Itaewon is a dangerous place.
My home town in Connecticut is about 2 hours from New York City and everytime someone does a crime, they always seem to run away there to avoid "the heat", everyone from petty thieves to drug dealers and mafia bosses (John Gotti even had a home once in Connecticut).
I had the worst of luck having to grow up in the sh*ttiest part of town where people had to be inside by 9pm for the simple fact thats when the hoodlums and thugs come out.
Seoul seems to be like one of the safest places to live compared to some places in the US. |

All the police I've seen minus the young kids carry guns. I love how they have a telephone cord type thing attached to the butt of the gun which is then attached to there web belt (using military term because i don't know what you would call it.. police belt??).. .When walking to school one day.. i walked by a police station and saw one ajoshi take his gun and hand it to another ajoshi during shift change i guess.. it struck me as odd.. but this is..Korea. |
