Hi not sure if this the correct place to post looking for some help basically two years ago I applied to work in Korea accepted a contract etc but could not travel due to a family member being seriously ill - now that everything is 'back to normal' i would like to follow my dream of teaching abroad - i would really like to reapply for Korea but is there any rules which would stop me entering the country due to breaking a previous contract - just want to look at my options and decide whether Korea is still an option

No problem.

Even if you had come here and did a midnight run, you'd still be able to come back. Don't worry. In fact, it's very common for people to accept a few jobs from recruiters and then turn them down. (Don't feel bad - recruiters and schools do the same to employees.)

thank you for your response and that has put my mind at ease now its time to try find a job lol

The only thing that could happen is you being denied a new visa if your previous one was not cancelled and has not expired yet.

The only other issue that can pop up is that your previous work experience in Korea (you not completing your contract) could be an issue for some employers.

It was two years ago, so unless he had a 3 year contract, then cancelling the visa is a mute point.

Still, he was never in Korea so he wouldn't have received an ARC. No ARC and the visa expires after 90 days. That's assuming he even got the visa, and that the school even applied for a visa registration number.

If you never got a work visa (and never even came to Korea) there is NO POSSIBLE WAY immigration could have any record on you. Employers can only report employees to immigration if those employees leave without notice. Since you were never in the country, you were never an employee in Korea, so nothing to be worried about.

You never came to Korea and it was long ago. You can apply to work again and get a visa - no problem. You can enter Korea any time. You never worked at the job so you have no need to mention it to anyone - not to a recruiter or an employer. Just don't use the same recruiter and don't apply to the same school, although even the recruiter and school may have no record or no institutional memory of you by now.

what if you got a visa, came to korea, but left before getting an arc?
