KT has stated that the iPad will go on sale Nov. 30.
Who's getting it?! |

| I'm interested to see what the 16GB WiFi only iPad price will be. I have an iPhone and don't need another data plan. I would use it mostly as a coffee table book/internet browser. Plus, its greats at database applications for work and the NES, SNES, Game Boy and Sega Emulators on it with the ability to play with my Wiimote are awesome! |

absolutely disagree there. iOS4 was so nice compared to froyo but swype compatibility makes it much better for a phone.
I'm getting an iPad..but not for me and not here in korea. shipping it to my mom for christmas. |

| I have an iPad, granted it's one bought from the US. After having it for a while and having 3G access on it, it's probably one of the best purchases that I've made for my time here. |

KT just came out with the WiFi iPad prices and they're about the same as the States:
iPad 16GB Wifi
KT Store: 640,000 W = $547 US
US Best Buy: $499 + tax = about $540 |

| I got my iPad when I took a trip to Tokyo in July. After jailbreaking it's really nice and great for basic internet browsing and games. It's replaced my laptop at work haha |

I've had mine for months now and love it.
It's not perfect (sux for creating word type files), but for viewing pleasure, it's tough to beat. |

I guess it depends on what your doing, because I create "word" type files using Pages just fine. It's good for what it does, but if you need other people to edit your document then it's not so good, but if they just need to read it I just email it to them as a PDF and they're good to go. I guess it's also not good if you're trying to edit someone else's document and send it back to them. |

If you are going home to the US for winter break, now (literally) would be a good time to buy the iPad as Apple is having a Black Friday sale.
I will eventually buy one, but I think I'll hold out for the next generation. |

I got a 16gb Wifi one before coming here. It's a great ebook/pdf/comic reader, does internet decently, and has some nice apps. I like Anki for review, and a few others for language learning. I got it for various reading material and studying, it so far it has served it's purpose well.
Also have a couple of decent rhythm games on it. So yeah. It does pretty much everything I expected from it. I just wish I could use it at my work. It doesn't work with their wireless network. :/ |

It seems like networks are fairly locked down here in Korea. They seem to restrict which machines are allowed onto their networks. It's not really that the iPad doesn't support the network, rather you probably need specific settings set on your device and they may need to set some settings on the network to allow your device. That's the main reason I decided to get the 3G version instead so I could use my iPad regardless of where I was. |

| I'm not trying to hate, so I hope people don't misunderstand this. But I'm curious why people buy an Ipad instead of a smaller notebook or a netbook that wouldn't have the limits on certain functions that the Ipad has. Is it mostly the cool factor? |

I can only speak for myself, but my reasoning would be that I already have a Macbook Pro (laptop) computer, so I dont really need another laptop.
Plus, while netbooks and "tablet" computers (not just the iPad) overlap in some functions, I think tablets are easier to consume media with. |

I find that exported PDFs are often unreadable on the opening end. I've tried to make them on the iPad, only to be unable to read them on a PC. |
