Have any other Canadians neglected to do their taxes while abroad? I have been away for a few years and wanted to get that stuff in order, and am having a hard time finding out how to file for previous tax years.
I haven't lived there in several years, but in case I go back, I want to have that sorted out. I looked on the revenue site and couldn't find any answers....so any advice here would be greatly appreciated! |

Try Searcheslcafe.com with the two words Canada and Taxes. Good Luck.
Also consider checking the FAQ section as this is a Frequent question! |

contact the CCRA to get the form for the last year you were IN CANADA.
File for that year and on the form (front page, upper right side) you will find a place to indicate that you left Canada with "no plan to return".
You have met your legal obligations for taxes in Canada.
When you do eventually return (if you do) then you file for the year of your return.
If you do not return you are NOT obligated to file your Canadian taxes.
