Anyone worked in GIST before?

Yes, I've found it to be a very effective tool for speaking classes. It means the students can steer the discussion and also usually encourages the quieter students to input more.

I've been using it in conjunction with multi learning classes where I show them a video clip and get them to write 20 words they don't know, think are interesting or just want to talk about. They enjoy doing this because they think it's easy, which it is, I've found it gets them talking better than other things I've tried.

I am assuming that he is actually referring to the Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology. I used to know one foreign physics professor well who is working there. Also, I occasionally met some graduate students there (some of whom were from Africa). Anyways, in all instances, the people that I met associated with GIST, seemed quite happy there.
