I think I will be just under the wire. I sent off for my CBC two weeks ago and my contract should renew January 31st. If the CBC doesn't get here in time, what the heck will happen?

I emailed this concern to my boss and she said, "They just seem to give you little bit more time to be prepared if you don't have them ready in case you are already in Korea and there's no one can help you out in your country with preparing those documents."

So....they will give me a renewed visa *pending the arrival and verification of my new FBI background check*?

I think you are right your CRC will likely not get here on time for renewal. I think ttompatz or somebody mention when you go for renewal that to brink proof of you applying for the record. So any receipts for bank money order and or mail/EMS bring.

Can you not renew sooner? I think if you renew before the new year you will be given a lot more leeway. I was!

I work for SMOE. I received notice that, for those renewing,t he CBC thing has been put off by a year (from the foreign head teacher, quoting someone from SMOE that all SMOErs know well). I will have to get one from the Korean police.

My CBC should arrive some time in the next month or so, but I have no intention of having it as I head to Kimmi. I think you'll be fine.

I'm in the exact same boat. CRC won't be here in time. Immigration (3 different people on 3 different calls) told my boss that for RENEWALS with the same school, they will not be fulling enforcing the CBC this year.

Essentially they told her if I don't have the CBC in time they will still renew my ARC and I'll just have to get them the CBC at some point in 2011.

My ARC is up mid Feb 2011, so after the new CBC rules go in place.

Sounds like they realize this is a major problem for contract renewals and are being lenient, which is good. Because for awhile I was freaking out!
