What did you put in your letter of resignation? Would you mind letting me look at it? How did that go?

I see some people talking about writing up their own letter or releases and having their bosses sign it. What's the general policy on that? If you wrote your own, can I see it?

I'm thinking about leaving because of a general hostile work environment. It's unfortunate because they pay me on time and my apartment is nice, but the treatment I'm getting is beginning to make me stressed and ill. I've talked to my friends at other workplaces and, while their jobs have many bad points (I'm not deluding myself into thinking I can find the perfect job in Korea or that I can find any real respect anywhere), they don't get yelled at (literally yelled at) regularly in front of their children.

I could handle being demeaned better if they would just do it in private. :\

I will have been here four months soon. If I put in notice, I will leave at the six month point. Do you think that means I earned my airfare?

Thanks for any advice.

do not give notice - you will be screwed out of your last month's pay and anything else they can take.

Airfare is a contractual matter - NOT a matter of policy (by a government body) or law. In regards to payback - what does your contract say?

If you plan to quit your current place of employment and stay/seek other employment in Korea you WILL need a complete set of new documents for a new visa application - a transfer won't be possible. Order them now.

Don't give notice? I really want a Letter of Release and it says I can get one if I give 60 days notice. These people have been pretty good at honoring contractual obligations - it's just the work environment and personal treatment that has me leaving.

The contract says I've earned the airfare if I work for 6 months.

I'm going to find a place to get fingerprints tomorrow. I've gotten a couple of job offers for March so I've got some time. Not much, but some.

If I don't give notice, what do you suggest I do? Leave the country and come back?
