|
|
I got an official looking document in the mail today titled "Notice on Change or Addition of an Employer to the Report Subject" It had all my visa information including Registration number and picture. One of the first sentences state that the "report subject is allowed to change or add an employer without current advance permission but with report."
Anyone else get this? What does it mean exactly? There were some other things but I'm confused about the document as a whole, I thought e-2 visa holders weren't allowed to have more than one employer. I'm assuming if I got it in the mail others must have too. |

I haven't gotten that but you are now allowed to get a second job. The rules were (as of last year) you need a permission letter from your eimployer, the job has to be teaching english, and it can't be too many hours or conflicting. No idea why you got that, it sounds like the form you fill out at immigration when asking to get the second job. |

Right, I got that too, and was wondering about it because I was just at Immigration a few weeks ago. I think it's just general information. I'm going to double check with the head English teacher next week, but I don't think it's anything urgent. |

I wonder why only some people got the letter and others didn't. |

Are the others who got it registered with the Incheon Immigration Office by any chance? |

I got one too, I am in Daejeon. I was paranoid a little bit because of recent little foibles and that with my work but I called 1345 and they said it was just an information letter, basically telling me what is what. Why they did it? Who knows |

I got one of those a couple of weeks back. It's just an information letter they're gradually sending out to everyone. Essentially, someone with common sense has decided to relax the rules, so now you can change jobs without needing prior permission. As the letter says, you need to inform them within 2 weeks of what you're doing, so they have a record. Previously, you essentially had to go and beg for permission before you started a new job. It's a good thing, and nothing to worry about - I'd suggest you keep the letter somewhere in case the situation ever arises and your local immigration official isn't up to speed with the new rules. |
