Does anyone know if these are reputable schools? do they try in any way to regulate your personal life (i.e. will non-practicing Christians have trouble teaching at these schools?). I ain't been to Korea before, and I'm just looking for a decent paying job to start me off and a comfortable place to live.
also, do they actually pay you on time?
thanks for any help/advice! |

I really hate to say the following but, unfortunately, when it comes to Christian employers you really need to be careful. Some of them are the worst people to work for.
For example, my first hagwon was run by good christian people. They were generous, kind, and had a good reputation in the community. We never had to worry about getting or keeping students.
Then they sold to friends of theirs in their church and it went downhill after that and I mean downhill, They did not have a good reputation at all and we woried about our students staying or new ones coming in. |

Yes, you do have to be careful when looking for Christian schools here. A few re good, but a lot try to play the "but your a Christian" card to do some pretty underhanded stuff so that they can save some money and get you to do more for less
However, my husband works for a good one in Bucheon, Sam Kwan International Christian School and they have been nothing but accommodating. They will be looking for new teachers starting February if you're interested! |
