They have put me through hell.

I've worked in Korea for many years and have never had such problems.

PM me for details, if you're considering working for them and are concerned.

Do not be fooled by their glam schools and nice salaries....

Wow, there's a Best Edu right across the street from my school. Never met any of the teachers there, but wondered what it's like. Not too good I guess...

Sorry, it's EDUP not BEST EDU....

They used to be called WIN EDU / Win Education though, but recently changed their name...

Yeah - lots of people get sucked in by "Win Education / EDUP"

people want the 10mill "free key deposit", the 2.7mil/month for teaching elementary kids 1~5pm (although they must turn up at the school at 11am and just look busy til 1pm)

many suckers fall for them (mainly due to the free key deposit, ok salary - (for hours worked), 2 weeks paid vacation and 12 month bonus

but the people who run EDUP and supervise you are always lying, tricking, people who just use you and then cause you lots of hassles...

I also recommend avoiding them like the plague..

there are many other "smaller" COMPANIES running afternoon-classes at Public schools who may not be able to offer you the "free-key deposit, or 12 month bonus"
however...
they will treat you like "GOLD" and take much better care of you than EDUP....

I worked for them last year and have never had such a problem free year. They rarely bothered me except the rare encouragement to keep the student numbers up which is understandable, i was paid on time, they helped organise my apartment and i was paid my bonus upon leaving.

Just want to give the other side to the story before you jump to conclusions about a company. As with all jobs people are gonna have good and bad experiences, maybe i was lucky and the OP was unlucky.

Most of the managers there as mentioned before are lying, beligerant over agressive and rude and always run this good cop / bad cop scheme on you. They just don't seem to like supporting their teachers in times of trouble.

You got lucky.

I know others who work / have worked for them and they all warned me about the management.

Wish I had have listened.

I hate them too and would love to share some stories with anyone who has worked for them or is considering working for them.

I think Yingwenlaoshi used to work for them (Win Edu) and has some war stories he might share.

Ying Li, care to chime in? Smile

I also happen to randomly meet people who used to work for them too who have more than a few things to get off their chest.
And I know some people who didn't even make it past a phone call after Win/EdUp found out or saw they they weren't white, Christian, etc...
It's kind of funny considering one of the top managers over there is a cross-dressing lesbian.
Even the principal at the school hated them. She always would storm up to our classroom and yell about how much that company lied to her and that she had the power to kick us out whenever she pleased. She always tried to get us to get Win on the phone because they never answered or returned her calls...
And this is just for starts...

I knew someone who worked for them years ago when they first started under the name KM Education. He claimed that they made all of the employees open bank accounts with a certain bank, then forged employee signatures to open a second bank account which the public schools payments were transferred into. The banks accounts that the employees opened then received the employee's monthly pay. Also, two contracts were reportedly signed: one with the company and one with the public school.

I have been working with WinEducation or Edup and have a few questions about other peoples experiences with them. I have contacted the Labor Board and I am filing a claim against them. I have also contacted and American Lawyer who works here and is going to help me fight a case against them in court. You can email me at [email protected] I would like to know how other people have dealt with them.
