Subway maps seem easy enough to find, but all 3 of the bus apps I downloaded today are just timetables and the like. I could really use a bus map. Does anyone know of a good app or place to find one? I mind going analog.

I don't think you will find a bus map for Seoul that is similar to a subway map. The huge number of bus routes would make something like that totally unreadable. With that being said, most of the generic map apps have bus information in them. Naver maps and Daum maps are two that I have used. You can enter two locations (either by typing them in or clicking on two points on the map) and it will tell you which bus or buses run between those two points. If you click on the result it will display the route on the map. Alternatively, you can just type in a bus route number and it will display the full route on the map.

Seoul Bus is a good app if you know where you're going, but I do miss the great Congnamul(?) bus map from my browser. It won't run on Android I guess because it need to install that TwinkleLittleStar ActiveX component.

Interesting tip about Daum/Naver, I'll try that.

What I'm seriously disappointed with is the lack of a decent subway app for Android; even the older dumbphones in Korea had good maps that would find shortest and fastest connections plus lots of info on the trip.
AFAIK, the Galaxy-S doesn't even come equipped with a subway app.

I really want my glorious iPhone subway app on Android! Plus, the Seoul Bus iPhone app ist still better (looking) than the Android one. Just a matter of time, I hope.

OT, has anyone tested the Korean ToiletFinder app? I'm thinking of putting it on my Galaxy just to show off to my friends in other countries who still have to look for trees and walls.

If you can read Korean there are 2 apps you might like:

지하철 노선도 - subway map that will find a route, tell you how long it takes etc etc....

지하철정보 - no map, but very accurate timetables (I was trying a few similar apps and this was the only one that updated the same day that the timetable on my line changed recently)

Naver maps can do everything that you mention. It will show the shortest and fastest connections, give an estimated distance and time, show first and last train information, and it will even tell you which car to get in for fastest transfers.

Yes, but iPhone had an app to do all that without using a browser or the internet, and I could bookmark my favourite stations etc. I really loved the "best car" hint and the local surface maps, available bus connections at the station etc. Not sure but I think it was a paid app.

Just a matter of time I guess, patience is my friend (while waiting I still can try to figure out 200-odd elements in Alchemy and Alchemy Classic).

I'll give that a try. But I still wonder why the Galaxy comes with so few usefull apps pre-installed (give that basically any phone able to show colour graphics has/had a subway map installed).
