Where is it all? When the iPad was being launched, certain posters made it their mission to bash tablet PCs.

Why so silent now?

I don't understand this post, but I saw the words Galaxy Tab and had to say how awesome it is!!!!

Personally, I think the iPad is too big and bulky. 7 inches is perfect!!!! Wink

Huh?

Why bash the Galaxy Tab? That would be like bashing Hyundai for making an SUV after Toyota did.

Personally, I'm critical of the whole tablet category. I think they're a bit pointless. I don't really care who makes them.

Actually, that would be like bashing Hyundai for making an SUV after Toyota did, who did it after Ford did, who did it after GM did.

Ipad was NOT the first tablet. Lets not rewrite history here.

I played with one at COEX a week or two ago, I kinda liked it. Definitely preferable to the iPad - not so proprietary and locked up.

I could see it being useful - but my lifestyle just doesn't have a place for a tablet these days. A few years ago it would have been perfect.

Very true.....Apple, in fact, have not made the first anything.
They didn't make the first personal computer .
They didn't make the first MP3 player.
They didn't make the first smartphone...
They didn't make the first tablet........

This doesn't mean that their products are less worthy.......it just means Apple aren't all that.

Mostly it means they can market their sheet like no one else can to make it seem that they are amazing innovators.

Actually Apple "is all that". I've owned other computers and mp3 players and while they might not be as "closed" as Apple products are (or as expensive), none of them come close to the user interface or ease of use.

Sony markets as much as Apple, and look at the "success" they've been having lately.

there actually is no debate about it...most apple products are far superior in their respective fields.

if someone wants to stupidly challenge me on the reasons why, i'll be happy to school you...

i for one, dont like the iphone. i prefer a blackberry with a keyboard any day of the week. but at the same time, i will not deny that it, overall, is the best touchscreen phone on the market.

apple doesnt just sell you a piece of hardware or software, they sell you a lifestyle. all their products seamlessly integrate with each other. you can buy an apple product for almost every aspect of your technological needs, and have them all work in-sync with each other without any problem.

try buying a sony phone, laptop and mp3 player, and try to do the things you can do with the apple equivalent. simply cannot be done. and if it can, its not nearly as effective or efficient.

I also think the OP's point was that people went on for pages about how stupid Apple was for releasing a tablet computer and that no one would buy the useless, glorified iPod Touch/iPhone, yet no one seems to have a bad thing to say about Samsung for doing the same.

Since Apple has blown up over the past several years, people have just been hatin lol. Cool

It certainly can be done!! My Windows 7 PC has always been able to connect to any device I've plugged into it. No problems. My Cowon MP3 player, my old Canon Camcorder, my Galaxy S phone......anything. Windows 7 driver support is awesome.

In saying that, I'm not challenging the fact that when you pay the high prices to go all Apple and live your digital lifestyle in the Appleverse, things do seem all rosy in the garden.....

But I like the freedom to choose products from more than one company and still be able to live an effective and efficient digital lifestyle. Plus, I save a lot of money!

The thing Apple fanboys can't believe or face up to is that Windows works. That's why over 90% of people still buy PC's and not Mac's.

And if Apple were really 'all that' why did the iPhone 4, a product they've already had several versions of, get released with the antenna fault and other bugs?

i dont know where to begin.

since you want to "save a lot of money," im guessing you never owned a macbook, and dont even remotely know how great they are. the amount of things u can do with a mac trackpad is unbelievable. other notebook's trackpads dont even compare.

im not just talking about compatibility with the OS, im talking about EVERYTHING. you can buy an apple time capsule, that will not only act as a router, but it will allow you to create on-the-fly backups while you work, it will allow you to control your itunes library on your computer wirelessly with your iphone while you stream it to your outdoor speakers plugged into your apple airport express, so you can listen to a podcast of how apple is one of the most innovative companies in its field, during a hot tub session with your neighbour's wife...

im not even going to bother replying to your comment about the iphone 4's bad antenna...

at the end of the day, most of apple's products are far more innovative and superior, in their respective classes, than their competitors...

vista was such a piece of ****. windows 7 isnt all that great, still has a long way to go. the fact more ppl use windows vs. osx doesnt make it better. thats like saying more people use point n shoot cameras, so they are better than DSLRs.

im not saying apple's products are superior in every single aspect, because they are not. hence the reason why ive bought 7 blackberries before ive even considered buying an iphone.

if you tell me, based on your individual needs, your non-apple products are more suitable for you, then fine. but overall, i still maintain what i said before.

done.

And if the iPhone isn't "all that" why does every other person on the bus/subway seem to be holding one? Why is it that 18 out of 20 people in my office have one?

It seems now that the momentum is behind Apple, the "PC" guys have become the fanboys.

Windows 7 is Vista Service Pack 3. It's a marketing move rather than an engineering feat. Lipstick on a pig.
