As Plato said in his book, "The Republic"- Democracy gives rise to Tyranny.
A good example of this was the Roman Republic- as it decayed and fell apart, a Roman Empire took its place.
To prolong the government, Augustus initiated the Pax Romana policy that did many of the things the American government is trying to do now to rally the American public around its cause, though it appears to not be working. |
