So, my school plans to send me to Fukuoaka tomorrow to do my visa run and they booked my return for the afternoon the following day. In my understanding this is possible but not likely. Am I wrong? Whenever I've gone before I've always been booked for at least two days to process the visa. |

In by 1400 out by 1300 the following day. It has been overnight ever since 2006 (prior to that they were same-day processing).
Lots of info in the travel section about visa runs to Fukoaka.

Thanks for the quick reply. The school's about ready to close up shop for the evening so I was in a hurry. I can relax now. |

In fact, if you tell the consulate that you have an early flight, you can go in at 9am to pick up the passport with visa. Otherwise the consulate starts giving them out at 10am. |
