Any one have any info on Palau? I would love to go island hopping in the Pacific but that's expensive so I was thinking about starting here. |

IF you are a diver it is a GREAT place to go.
My first trip (of many) to there was back in the late 70's and the wrecks were still untouched from the time they went down in WWII.
The diving is still great (nice thing about it being hard to get to) and the local are still just as friendly (not so jaded about tourists) as they are in other places (like Fiji).

I'm not a diver but would love some snorkeling and kayaking. |

I would love to do. I had planned to go, but the price was too high and the price for Philippines was so low. |

Yep, I have. It was a long time ago('98)and it was BLOODY expensive(thanks in large part to Continental AIR-& BS prices on the islands). I got sunburned and I'm not even a diver/snorkeler. Locals hassled me endlessly. Food was crap.
Do I regret it? NOPE! I'm a big WW2 buff and I saw plenty to satisfy me on Peleliu. Overall, the above-sea scenery (esp. the Rock Islands)was superb.
What the hell-go!
If you're not a diver or a WW2 buff, Palau is, cost wise, not a good choice for a vacation. |

I know it can be expensive but we are trying ot go cheap. We went to Guam pretty cheap. We rented a car, hung out on the beach, looked at the WW2 stuff, meet some nice people. I'm thinking Palau will be similar with more things to do and see like the Rock Islands, Jellyfish lake etc...
Thanks everyone. |
