Would anyone know where I could go to an English Christmas Eve service in Seoul or a Midnight Mass? Thanks so much. |

I'll put in a shameless plug for my church (Bethel International Church)
We have a midnight mass Christmas Eve starting at 11:00 p.m. (refreshments afterward)
324-1 YangJae 2 Dong
Seo Cho Gu
Directions:
*Kang-nam Station exit 6 --Bus 9 -- Seo Cho Office Stop or
*Yang Jae Station exit 5 -- Bus 18 -- Seo Cho Office stop
We also have a Watchnight Service, New Year's Eve, beginning at 11:00 p.m (refreshments afterward)
Our regular Sunday worship is at 2:00 p.m., and we have several Bible studies during the week.
We're kind of small right now (we just started in September), but seeing new faces every week! All are welcome! Merry Christmas!

Forgot to add that we also will have 10:30 a.m. Christmas Day Service, but it will be kind of brief, as the Korean speaking church will be having their service at 11:00 a.m.
Peace! |

Chung Dong Methodist Church has one at 9:30 PM Xmas eve.

They are near City Hall, by the Toksugung Palace exit. Go past the palace entrance and hang a right (one-lane, one-way street). Just walk along the palace wall for about 5 mins and you'll see it on the left by the traffic circle. |

The Seoul Anglican Cathedral has a service on Christmas Eve in English at 10:15pm. It's their first year doing one in English so I'm not sure what it'll be like.
The church is beside the British Embassy and Deoksu Palace. City Hall station for those taking the subway. |

Go to a Roman Catholic mass. AVOID the Protestants. An RC Christmas mass at a church that's large enough to have a good choir will be calm and pleasant and follow a liturgy that's all in Korean, but you'll know pretty well everything they're saying if your familiar with any traditional English or Latin liturgy. Trust me, you do not want the Korean Presbyterians, Methodists, and especially the Baptists or Penticostals giving you their version of Christmas cheer.
(I'm of Protestant background, btw). |

I've never known Korean Christians to go to Midnight Mass on Christmas Eve. They all seem to wake up before sunrise on December 25 and spend the whole day in church. |

My church in Hannam has an English service at 10pm on Christmas Eve and then 9am and 11am on Christmas day, it's pretty easy to get to from either Hangangjin subway station (line 6) or Hannam station (light blue line). It's Catholic and has a Choir and is very friendly towards newcomers. It's the Catholic International Parish of Seoul and services are held in St Francis Chapel next to Yukong Petrol Station on Hannam-Dong. |

Oh, yes, they do. And I believe that what Yu_Bum_suk was alluding to is that it's usually a marathon. The one, and only, one that I went to went on for at least three hours and I was near tears...not rapture tears, more like aggressive or complete boredom flagellation tears...GOD, what an (awful) experience! |

Why not go to the church that you attend on a regular basis? |

Ever heard of the term 'CE Christian'? You know, the type that gets to sleep in 50 Sundays a year? |

Just for clarification, CE= Christmas and Easter crowd. They are the bread and butter of any congregation, usually giving somewhere in the neighbourhood of 50% of the offerings of a given year between those two Sundays alone, hahaha. Thanks for the info folks. |

I know this is a long shot, but are there any French services for midnight mass? I doubt it, but I hear there's a pretty big French community somewhere in Seoul.
Thanks! |
