Hello and seasons greetings fellow ESLers
So in my random travels through the net I came across this website.
http://www.koobay.com/index.jsp
On it they claim to sell smartphones at wholesale prices and unlocked to boot (not sure if I'm using that right)
Anyway, I have been fending off the smartphone era for long enough and might be interested in getting one. I'm only going to be in Korea for 1 more year and so that disqualifies asking a friend to sign for me and getting an iPhone or Android and besides I feel like I would at least like to have the option to take it back to the UK with me.
Here are my questions to the ESL Cafe brain trust:
Does the website seem legit? Ive hada look around and found some positive comments on it but nothing like a large enough sample to be conclusive.
Of the following 3 phones which one would you choose and why?

I like the Android phone (the second one) but am concerned that it doesn't seem to be able to play musi. Which seems odd. The last one seems like the best bet as it plays a wide variety of video formats (a pet peeve of mine of all apple products) does music and everything I would want in a smart phone but I'm worried about the windows mobile OS. I have not heard good things about it.
Final question and maybe the most important one. Would these phones work both in Korea and the UK? If not then this whole exercise seems pointless but I do enjoy talking tech
Thanks for your input guys |

My issue with these items, if it's not Korean made or something, you'd have to register it for a huge fee before you can make it work on any service. KT says except for Iphone 4, all the new models cell phones don't need to be unlocked if you want to transfer to another service (eg. Galaxy S for KT... 'cause that's what I specifically asked). But that's all the good news I've heard 3 days ago about these things. |
