I am thinking of heading to Seoul for Christmas.
Are the buses/trains that go to Seoul still open on Christmas? I might take KTX or bus.

Yes, everything will still run, as usual for any holiday. Smile

I'm planning on going too. Can any Seoul people lend some advice as to what are some good Christmas things to do? I know about Lotte World and Seoul Land holiday displays. Plus the ice rink. Any other must-sees?

I would imagine that the area around City Hall, Gwanghwamun/Gyungbukgung Palace and the Cheongyechon stream would be pretty festive. There are lots of lights, the ice skating rink, etc. I've checked it out a few times and it was fun to just walk around and take in the sights.

The high will be -4 C on Saturday, so dress warm.

All of the museums and tourist attractions will be on open Christmas day. It's also a good day to see a movie. Just remember the subways and buses run on the Sunday/holiday schedule, (on the right side of the schedule), and not the usual Saturday schedule.

How about Busan (if you don't live too far away)? There's a Christmas day event for kids at the Oncheonjang Orphanage (1-6pm). We could use more elves to guide them through the seven stations, serve food, drinks, and need help with setting things up. If you can't, maybe you know someone/a few people that can!

I'm the team captain for the guides and we could really use the hands. For more info, check out my blog. I just posted the Facebook link about it.

Well, wherever you go on Christmas, have an awesome time!

Take care Smile

Wish I could, but I won't be in the area.
