Hey,
I've just started looking for work in South Korea and I've been asked to provide a copy of my degree certificate with an apostille.
I'm not really sure what this means...I've got my BA certificate as I graduate 2 years ago, so do I need to get in contact with the British Council to do this or will my university be able to help in some way?
I've just googled this and it kinda confused me as a lot of the advice was for degrees from the US. If anyone else from the UK has done this or has any advice, I'd really appreciate it!
Thanks |

If I remember rightly you need to get your degree photocopied, have the photocopy signed by someone like a solicitor (I think the technical term is notary public) to verify it's a legit copy and then have the photocopy apostilled (some place in Milton Kynes) to verify that the verification is legit.
You also need to do this with your criminal background check. |

This. You need to go to a solicitor's office. Ask for your degree and criminal background check to be notarised. This should cost no more than 10 quid per document. Then send off both documents to the FCO's office in Milton Keynes with payment for each document (20 odd quid for each. Check on their website for up-to-date pricing). Once you've done that you're pretty much good to go (you may need degree transcripts if you are applying for a public school job) |
