Vocabulay / Grammar section : 100%
Writing : Maxed out the multiple choice (40pts)
Listening : 100%
Reading : 94%
On to the intermediate test in the spring.
How did everyone else do? |

I got TOPIK 2 last spring and I am currently preparing for the 3/4 exam. TJ, you sound like an ambitious guy but just be prepared. Level 3 is WAY harder than 2 so preparing for 3 months may not be enough. I've been told a Uni language program all the way to level 6 (so that is 1.5 years of language instruction full time) will only get you to a TOPIK level 4 if you are a westerner and have no background in Hanja. Getting TOPIK 2 doesn't really require a whole lot. I did it after doing level one an dpart of level 2 at Sogang University. I attempted a TOPIK 3/4 practice exam the other week and got my ass kicked all over the place. |

On the left side of the main screen there is a white box with three tabs on top: 공지사항 / 기출무제 / Q+A
Click on the middle tab 기출문제 and all the files containing past tests will come up. |

How the hell do I find my scores?
They'll obviously be low if I can't even navigate the damned site |

First log into the site.
Second, toward the bottom right of the screen you'll see six icons. Click on the far right top one (성적 확인).
One the next screen you'll see two images. Click on the left orange one.
Your scores should appear. |

i probably won't take the intermediate. i will only be here to study for so many more months....and that jump between beginner and intermediate is huge...i'll be studying still, though. |

5th level was very, very demanding.
It was a huge jump from intermediate. My wife was a life saver for that study period with her support and help.
Level 5
Grade - Perform language functions necessary for professional research fields or affairs
- Perform overall range of unfamiliar topics such as politics, economics, society, and culture
- Use of appropriate language by distinguishing formal, informal, spoken and
written context
I stopped at level 5 and just continued improving on my own. I feel I could pass level 6 if I took it but I did not have all the required time to concentrate on some of the areas that are covered.
Congratulations to all of you and keep it up!
I will also say that the jump between beginner and intermediate when it comes to TOPIK is pretty steep. You need to buckle down and really study as well as up your practice as much as you can.
Taking these tests and progressing with Korean is well worth the effort.
Good luck!!!! |
