i can't be the only one in this boat. the girl has never had dinner in itaewon so i'd like to take her there (plus how would i make reservations anywhere else?). i have no idea where to take her. it doesn't have to be super expensive... but. you know. nice.
where should i go? |

Zelen for a more adventurous dinner...Bulgarian food...exquisite.
Between is also a good place to impress a gal, but be prepared to drop major coin on a three-course meal if you want to eat well and leave satisfied.
Both places have facebook pages with contact info. |

MAKE the reservations, and on the night of the 'date', explain to the waiter that you have 'no idea why the other two people didn't show up' |

zelens phone is off the hook and it looks like there is some sort of christmas eve set menu that is super expensive (unless it's the price for 2)
'died by bear' - hah... perhaps not the classiest move though. and that would just add to my date anxiety (this is only our second date) |

Hmmm. Maybe you could show her your cultural knowledge and check out Petra, nearish Noksapyeon. Although a tad pricey (not bad though) you get excellent middle eastern cuisine. It'll probably cost around 50,000 for the two of you (incl. a glass of wine each).
p.s. Zelen's is incredibly good. Too bad they have some special thing going on that night... |

I really like Le Saint Ex, if French food is your thing, or if you want something good but a little less adventurous, La Alla Cucina has decent Italian food with great prices on sets. |

No joke, dude. If you're really interested in Zelen, send me a PM. I know the owners and can set you up with a table. |

I was wrong, not La Cucina. I've been to this place five or six times, yet I can't remember the name. It's on the street behind the Hamilton, near the Brazilian place, before Sam Ryan's and Three Alley. They have a two person set for 52,000 (the cheap one), or a more extravagant set for 72,000. Both include a glass of wine for each person and individual plates for each course save the pizza and the apps. I'm going to Itaewon tonight, I'll try to remember to drop by and check the name.
I think the set is a bit unnecessary at Le Saint Ex. The mains are really typically hearty French fare and come with salad. Last time I was there, the duck was only about 25,000 (though the steak was significantly more). But yeah, with a bottle of wine you're probably still going to end up spending 120,000. I'd do it, as it's a Christmas Eve date, but that's just me.
Suji's is always good, but it doesn't have the kind of ambiance I'd be looking for on Christmas Eve. |
