I know in Japan, you can take parcels, golf-clubs etc to a Family Mart or Lawsons 24-hour shop and have it very cheaply sent anywhere in the country - overnight.
I recently heard that I could send parcels (the same way) in Korea via Family Mart or GS25
Apparently its called Family Mart Tek Bae.
Basically, using Family Mart or GS Mart, look for a symbol on the window of a little animated (cartoon) Tek Bae guy 택 매 carrying a parcel.
Inside somewhere you will see a set of fold down electronic scales on the counter. Just tell the assistant "Tek Bae" and have the assistant help you.
Family Mart is offering these services to people who can't make it to the Post Office during "Open" hours.

I'd like to know this too. I've gotten packages sent via family mart but, I have no idea how they did it. The package slip looked the same as you would get from the post office. So it must be using the same carrier. |

From what I know if you have a parcel sent to you and you're not at home after a couple of tries the mailman will drop it off at the local family mart/GS 25 so you can pick it up whenever you can. I haven't heard anything about sending things through convenience stores though. |

It's actually provided by an external contractor, CVSnet. (http://was.cvsnet.co.kr/)
They also have a contract with GS25. If there's an automated scale named Postbox with which you weigh your package and type in invoice details, exact price is decided on the spot.
At shops without this machine, you need to ask for an invoice and write down the details for yourself. Since your package cannot be weighed with precision right away, there are only three price intervals (small/medium/large) by approximate volumetric weight.
A note of caution: since convenient stores are no professional shipping company, many manned by teenage part-timers, there are occasional complaints regarding this service for mishandling or loosing parcels. |

At Family Mart you can also pay your bills, in case you couldn't make it to the bank during opening hours.
They are also operating as an "Emergency Shelter" 24 hours in case someone is trying to harm you and also offering free merchandise in the case of a disaster.
Good on them!
