Very Happy Brilliant

Kurtz: So can I book my ticket home then on December 23rd?
KT: Yes, you may do that
Kurtz: Are you sure? Please ask the principal
KT: It's OK, I checked with her
(next day)
Kurtz: OK, so I'm going to book and pay for the ticket, are you SURE it's OK?
KT: Sure Kurtz, no problem
(next day)
Kurtz: I'm going to the travel agent today, so are you SURE I can book the ticket?
KT: Of course!
(books and pays for ticket)

(One week before flying)
KT: Actually, Kurtz. I'm sorry, I spoke with the principal who read your contract, and it states you can have 2 weeks in the end of February. Sorry, you can't go on December 23rd

(even though it is the same contract and I did the exact same thing last year)

Kurtz: Well $%ck that!

The search function here isn't the best. But it's not useless either.http://forums.eslcafe.com/korea/viewtopic.php?t=187654&highlight=hitler+vacation

No, no, don't read that. Seoulio comes in with some annoying posts, and then chief apologist number two fails to see the comedy and turns it into another "you signed the contract, you honor it" type BS.

I should have taken your advice.

People don't whine about deskwarming in Korea because it's deskwarming or because we have to do it, we whine because we're told that we don't have to do it (or not told that we have to do it), and then we have to do it.

And we whine because the schools wait until we've bought tickets to go back on their word, in attempt to maximize their perceived leverage over us.

So much tension could be avoided if they would only learn how to make up their minds in advance, and then stick to their decision. Or if in doubt, say 'I don't know.'

??? But if you missed it the first time, like I did, how would you know to search for something like that?

Thanks wormholes101, for bringing that to my attention. Brilliant!

He was referring to the OP, who'd posted it very shortly after the other thread.

Ok, but it was 3 months later and it would have still entailed that the OP do a search just to avoid a double post which is excusable anyway because he sort of put a disclaimer in with it but I guess I really need to thank Mac999 and Vagabundo for reviving a sleeping post or I would have missed it anyway! Cool
