There's usually a very large gathering around the Boshingak bell tower/Samsung Millennium tower near Jongak station (line #1) in central Seoul. The whole area including city hall, Gwanghwamun, and the Cheongyechon stream is pretty packed with revelers. Getting in and out is a PITA though. |

the most crowded subway car i've ever been in was on the #1 line after the bell ringing. Sucked major ass. Maybe by now they've realized they should have more than one train running in each direction. |

I understand they get celebrities to ring the bell at the stroke of midnight. Will there be a big firework display straight afterwards?
Or will it just be a mass of people watching someone ring a bell?
This is definitely a maybe. But can anyone offer any other recommendations for NYE, I'm not really looking for a club. Having just moved here, I'm not sure what's good and what's not.
Also please have a look at my blog and feel free to leave a comment @ http://jdbrownlie.wordpress.com |

eb,
Do you know if there is anything on the internet about the W NYE party? I looked on the website and couldn't find anything.
Think it will be sold out by now? |

The bell is right outside exit #4 but be advised that the crowds are so large there that the subway does not stop at that station on New Year's eve. |

I am not sure if the one in Seoul is booked or if you even need RSVPS', but here is your contact info:

I just would drop by and ask them to add your name on the list ( if there is one). |
